Shannon Family Law strongly recommends that a person seek legal counsel in advance of filing for a divorce, especially when:
1. A minor child or children are involved, and/or
2. Significant assets (wealth) are involved, and/or
3. There are complex joint assets such as a closely held business.
We prepare clients in advance for divorce by helping them consider all aspects and ramifications of the process and make decisions that are appropriate for the beginning stages of divorce.
This planning is most effective before a final decision has been made to file for divorce, though it should be done in any case.
